Our Technology (In Progress)

The technology behind ReKelp is still being prototyped and tested. I’m currently working on a land-based kelp nursery and a floating, GPS-guided seeding device designed to deploy juvenile kelp at scale. Once the designs are more finalized, this page will include:

• Overview diagrams of the nursery setup and seeding device.
• Bill of materials and approximate costs for DIY builds.
• Notes on design tradeoffs, failures, and what I learned along the way.
• Open-source files so students and community groups can adapt the designs to their own coastlines.
